In many divisions we hold buying events where our members attend our expos to purchase their next season's products.

Many divisions offer guaranteed payment so suppliers get one payment from Composite in full and on time every month. No credit risk for suppliers in these divisions.

In our pharmacy division retailers are committed to stocking 1,000 core items from our preferred suppliers. A quarterly review with suppliers determines what items are core and any new products to be stocked.

In consideration for these benefits we require a discount or rebate for members and a cooperative fee.

Practically what does all this mean to our Suppliers?
  1. Guaranteed payment with our centralised billing process. Most divisions have a payment loop that creates one central invoice for the supplier for all members. Payment is made by the cooperative meaning you get your money in full, every time.

  2. Members own the Composite Retail Cooperative, so they are more likely to be compliant and buy from preferred suppliers. Members often belong to take time and energy from day to day supply challenges, so members are keen to find ways to make this work.

  3. Centralised supply negotiations making it easier to work with the Group and members with one point of contact for supply.

  4. A range of promotional opportunities are available for suppliers to coordinate centrally for each department. Various divisions have a range of marketing activity making it easier to grow sales with the Group.

About Us

Composite is a well-established cooperative that has been operating since 1968. We were founded by a group of draper stores wanting to utilise their collective buying power to negotiate the best deals for their members. 50 years later this philosophy is still at the heart for the business. We have the collective buying power of over 200 stores through 8 divisions throughout New Zealand.
